Granton had his check up yesterday. It all seemed like good news. His blood count was 11.1, holding steady. Other than a nasty diaper rash, nothing seems to be bothering him. As you know, we are praying for the return of the donor’s B cells and not his. They did a test to see if any B cells (the donor’s or his) are coming back. We don’t have the results of that yet. Of course, this means nothing to Granton. He has been more concerned about playing with cousins who came to see him. They came to see his little sister too, but; Granton doesn’t acknowledge this fact. It is nice to see him finally get to be around kids his own age. This is the first time in over a year he has had any real exposure to his peers because it was simply too dangerous before. It is great to give him more freedoms and he loved it. Outside of trying to knock his cousin upside the head with his guitar after a disagreement they got along great. His little sister is getting along great also. She had her first checkup today and has already gained a pound. Thank you so much for praying for us.

Finally, some pictures

I know it took awhile but I finally have some new pictures on here. I'm sorry I can't seem to turn that one the right way so I guess you will just have to look at is sideways. They are all going great. Granton has an appointment next week. Please pray for the right B cells. I will give more updates later.

aiw & Gig

Well, I wanted to post some pictures today but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen. I will keep working on it. We don’t have any new news to report. Granton and his little sister, mother, and father are just fine. Granton is basicly indifferent towards his little sister. He is nice to her most of the time we make him analogue her existence. However, he loves the new faces her arrival has brought. He is so used to being the center of attention he just assumes these are new members of his fan club and he always enjoys entertaining his audience. He has added “Baaaaba” (Baby) to his vocabulary but he would rather show you his pirate or lizard than talk about that new kid. She doesn’t seem to care if he acknowledges her or not. She is quiet and happy as long as she is full. Due to her huge apatite, this task has kept her mother very busy. Anyway, please keep praying for us, specifically the return of Granton’s correct B cells. In closing, all is well and God is good.

HAPPY Easter

She’s here! Granton’s little sister arrived early Easter morning. Once it was time, she came real quick. In fact, I was actually cutting the cord five minutes after the doctor literary ran into the room. Kaylynn Sue weighed seven pounds and twelve ounces, measured twenty-one inches long and has a lot of dark hair. She is beautiful and eats like a hungry horse. She slept on her daddy’s chest all night last night. As for Mr. Granton, he does not seem to mind the new arrival and he doesn't even know he has a new cousin yet. He is enjoying a lot of time at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. He was especially excited to be the exclusive hunter in the Easter egg hunt. He loves attention and every time he found an egg everyone clapped for him. He is such a ham; he smiled very bid and played it up wonderfully. He has not been able to be with his mom and Kaylynn much because he still has restrictions and a hospital is not a good place for him. However, He did get to see his sister for just a little bit. He actually said auhhhhh and patted her on the head; but, he didn’t stay long because he does not like his mask. We did break the rules for a few seconds and took his mask off for this picture. By the way, you can't see it it the picture, but this Easter, Granton wore some very special cowboy boots. Jenni and I are so happy. I have been hoping it would be on Easter. As most of you know Easter weekend last year was so hard. If you have never read “Granton’s Story,” it will explain a few things as it was something I wrote last Easter. Because Jenni and I had to deal with the likelihood of loosing a son, we have learned a new understanding for God’s sacrifice for us even though we will never be able to come close to comprehending it. I know God was showing me something with Granton and the fact that we had to life flight him on Easter weekend and my birthday really drove the point home. This has given me a new appreciation of God’s gift to us. However, I was afraid of the feelings that could resurface and prick at my memory they way they did on my birthday. Obviously, this was yet another prayer answered. We were so busy ENJOYING this Easter that I did not have time to focus on last Easter. I am so excited that now we will have wonderful memories for this holiday. Isn’t it ironic? Last year we were praying not to lose our only child; this year we are thanking the Lord for both of them. God is so good.

Still no news

Granton got good reports from his last checkup. He seems to be doing just fine. He is always happy to see me when I get home. I know a lot of people are looking for news on when he is an official big brother. Well, we still don’t have any news in that department but his mother is insisting that it won’t be much longer. For some reason she seem to be ready for the baby’s arrival. As for Granton however, he is not the least bit anxious. Jenni said he has slept most of the day today. I am not very surprised; this is kind of a cold rainy sleepy day anyway. I really don’t have much news to share. When I do I will let you know.

Little helper

Hey, I have not posted in a while. Things have been going pretty smoothly. Other than Granton’s cold, not much has happened with the little guy. He did get a pretty ugly cold on Thursday. The kid kept blowing gross stuff out of his nose and he sound awful when he slept. We just watched him real closed and trusted in the Lord that he would take care of him and we would have good judgment in taking him to the hospital if he needed it. However, the little guy seems to be getting better. His immune system is still suppressed but those little solders have to be doing something. Granton is getting bigger all the time. He is adding more sounds to his babbling. Sometimes I know he is trying to boss us around but we don’t have a clue what he is talking about. He also loves to help me. Yesterday I was making a big rock pile on the bank of our little creek that has been washing out. Mr. Granton was right there with me throwing his little rocks onto the pile. I love that. He actually slowed me down because he was in the way, but I don’t care. At this rate I will not be able to keep up with him some day. I like working with my dad so I want to get this tradition started with my boy. Well that is about all for now. I can’t help but think back to “this time last year.” I believe this was the weekend Jenni and I learned what an oscillator is. If you don’t know what one is, praise the Lord. It seems like a barbaric machine. However, I am thankful; that barbaric machine is one of the tools that let me have a little helper at my side working with his daddy. Please pray for Granton as always. It won’t be long and we will be getting his tests back on the B cells. Also, Jenni is about to pop. Hopefully, tomorrow will be her last trip to KC before the baby gets here. Thank you.
