Granton is in the hospital for three reasons. The first is the swollen spot on his neck that is a little red and tender to touch. The ultra sound didn't reveal anything specific so he will have a catscan done today at 4:00 to get a clearer picture. The doctors think, so far, that the spot is either swollen or infected lymph nodes. They will also scan the rest of his body to look at more lymph nodes. The second reason is the mucus/bloody stools he was having earlier this week. I didn't notice any blood yesterday or today because his feeds were at 37ml/hr and the amount of stools decreased. The third reason is his weight. The doctor wants to give him TPN (iv fluids) to help his weight gain over the next week. He did gain weight today--7.165. Also, he will be receiving a picc line, despite the infection risk, at the same time he has a catscan. They are doing this because of the number of pricks he will be receiving, plus to help the TPN get through him without making a periferal line go bad. The doctor that saw him today hadn't seen him in a few weeks and noticed how thin Granton looked and that he wasn't feeling well. He will be in the hospital for at least a week because the antibiotics he will receive could cause more diahrea again, plus they would like to see him gain weight. One more thing to pray about--a biopsy may be done on his neck if needed. The catscan will give more details and this will probably not be necessary. But, an order has been put in just in case.

The joy of the Lord is your strength, no doubt. There is no way to endure this long and tiring trial without the hope that only comes through Jesus Christ. We are praying for you all and are so thankful for the way you are reflecting our Savior through each phase of this process. So glad that God is Granton's perfect physician! Press on. :)
Jenni, what do I say? You and Daniel are truly amazing people to me. You both are so strong. You both have been so strong and patient and that has been through God's power. Sometimes we think we can not take another thing but we get pass that through God's love. I pray God will continue to heal Granton and be with his good parents. I have stopped today at work and said a special pray for those concerned with the cat scan at 4:00. Please fill us in with results as soon as you can. My computer at home is down so you won't be seeing to many post from me but I will be praying.
Still praying! Poor baby! You guys hang in there and remember, DON'T WORRY, PRAY! LOVE TO YOU ALL, KIM P.

Dear Daniel and Jenni and young Mr. Granton. I've still been watching the blogs closely . All three of you are amazing as well as the grands and others who have watched over that little guy. It has been an incredibly rough week for all of you. May God put his loving arms around you as Granton has slipped some but he will get on the road again right away. I know it is disappointing beyond what we can know. We love and admire and pray for you and know God is still seeing you through. It was good to see Debbie and Dennis for a little while. Be assured we are not forgetting all of you and check your blogs all the time. You are all in loving hands. And you have an incredibly strong love for each other through these days. Remember, God will never let you go. I wore the shirt again today--Don't worry, Pray. And we will . Gram
Glad you all were able to be together at the football game. I'm sure your heart was with Granton. What a beautiful family you all are...and what an impact on the community.
I will pray to God so he can take care of Granton!
Prayers are what I can do, so sorry Granton isn't feeling good.
